La bodega.
En Bodegas de Scala Dei todo es lo que parece, por todos sus rincones, es como coger una máquina del tiempo y transportarte a una época donde todo transcurría de forma más lenta y sabiendo muy bien cómo hacer las cosas. La idea de embotellar la verdad, entendiéndola como el legado de los antepasados, la historia del lugar, el respeto por el patrimonio, el paisaje y el lugar de donde viene la uva, ha sido desde nuestro inicio, nuestro objetivo. En 1973 las familias que obtienen el legado de los monjes cartujos, deciden volver a unir esfuerzos y refundar la antigua Unió de Scala Dei ahora bajo el nombre de Cellers de Scala Dei para embotellar el primer vino en origen a la DO Priorat, el Cartoixa de Scala Dei 1974, un vino que mantiene hoy en día aún sus orígenes. En Bodegas de Scala Dei somos herederos del saber hacer de los monjes, que combinamos actualmente con la concepción de vinos que nos muestren el terruño de donde vienen las uvas. Hemos creado un puente entre las tradiciones ancestrales y las nuevas técnicas que nos permiten conservarlas: Dos Priorats que convergen y de los que somos testigos directos. Todavía se pueden encontrar en la bodega tesoros escondidos, lagares de fermentación centenarios, construcciones medievales como nuestra sala de barricas, y respirar un ambiente que te hace entender como son los vinos de Scala Dei y notar en cada trago la esencia de un rincón único de la comarca.
Tierra de viñedos.
Hace cientos de años que se practica la viticultura en algunas de las fincas de Cellers de Scaladei. Son tierras donde se ha conservado la viña a lo largo de los siglos para que su uva, la que se ha obtenido siempre, ha sido de calidad indiscutida. La uva del que salen nuestros vinos procede de viñedos que tienen unos cincuenta años de media. Son más de setenta hectáreas, de garnacha y de cariñena, principalmente, repartidas en 41 fincas diferentes y que, muy a menudo, son pequeños mundos que no tienen nada que ver unos con otros y que hay que cultivar y cuidar desde la respectiva particularidad. Parcelas situadas entre los 400 y los 800 metros sobre el nivel del mar, lo que nos hace contar con algunos de los viñedos de mayor altitud del Priorat. Son tres los tipos de suelo que presentan (pizarras, arcillas y suelos calcáreos) y, dada la accidentada orografía del territorio, tenemos en todas las orientaciones posibles. Todo ello nos permite disponer de un amplio abanico de matices en la elaboración de los vinos, atentos al más pequeño detalle de la producción, considerando que es la propia bodega el que controla y trabaja las fincas directamente.

Accionariado.
Siglos despúes, en 1973, Celler Scala Dei se refunda y saca al mercado los primeros vinos modernos. En 1991 sus propietarios ceden a la Generalitat de Cataluña el edificio histórico que se convierte en un polo de atracción de enoturismo que recibe más de 20.000 visitas al año. En el año 2000, el Grupo Codorniu entra en el accionariado de Cellers Scala Dei.
