Español [ ES ]En Vallbona la historia está marcada por la presencia del monasterio cisterciense femenino más antiguo de Cataluña. La orden del Císter fue fundada en la Borgoña y se dedicó a combinar la actividad espiritual según la regla de San Benito con el desarrollo de la agricultura y la organización del territorio. Vallbona es un lugar de pendientes y pequeños valles en los que se intuye la erosión del agua que ha dejado su huella modelando el paisaje. Es tierra de suelos profundos y laderas sostenidas por márgenes de piedra seca que, junto a numerosas cabañas, nos hablan de un pasado más habitado y productivo. Estos muros constituyen un elemento fundamental en la conservación de la fertilidad del suelo y la eficiencia en el aprovechamiento del agua. La sabiduría y el trabajo intenso de generaciones nos permite disfrutar hoy de un paisaje admirable y en serio peligro de desaparición. El clima es mediterráneo continental de interior, con noches que refresca la marinada,viento marítim, y un régimen pluviométrico escaso (alrededor de 350 mm. anuales). La altitud (450-700 m) permite maduraciones suaves y prolongadas, lo cual limita algunos cultivos. La vegetación natural es mediterránea y se extiende por los márgenes, laderas y campos abandonados. Este entorno nos planteó desde el principio el siguiente reto: llegar a elaborar productos de nuestra herencia agraria, como el vino y el aceite, que fuesen reflejo de su tierra y sus formas, del clima, de las variedades cultivadas.
Por eso, seguimos trabajando con las manos, casi artesanalmente, sobre la viña, dándole forma, podándola, orientando la vegetación, vendimiándola. Mantenemos el trabajo manual en los olivos, podando y recogiendo. Etiquetamos a mano y numeramos una a una las botellas de vino y aceite. Un trabajo manual y a escala humana que nos estructura y permite que las personas con dificultades que configuran la cooperativa encuentren un espacio a su ritmo que, sin forzarles, les exija y ayude a superarse. Trabajamos aplicando los criterios de la agricultura ecológica y nuestras fincas están certificadas, estando en proceso de conversión.
L'Olivera nació cuando unas cuantas personas decidieron, en el año 1974, instalarse en el pueblo de Vallbona de les Monges, al sur de la provincia de Lérida, y trabajar con dos ejes: la promoción social de las personas con discapacidades psíquicas, especialmente aquellas en situaciones sociales menos favorables, y el planteamiento de alternativas económicas productivas a partir de los propios valores de la zona. Somos una cooperativa integrada por personas con un perfil multidisciplinar con objetivos sociales y de desarrollo económico local:
Carles de Ahumada estudió ingeniería industrial en Barcelona. Es el director y enólogo.
Josep María Culleré es de Belianes, de familia de injertadores, y trabaja en el campo.
Adolf Fábregas estudió ingeniería técnica agrícola y después de 15 años en África regresó para trabajar en el campo.
Carles Arazo es el campesino más joven de Vallbona y trabaja en el campo a tiempo parcial.
Pau Moragas estudió agronomía y enología en Cataluña, Portugal y Francia y se encarga del campo.
Alfons Camacho, Esteve Soto, Pere Torres, Sergi Arrufat y Vineet Vilardebò trabajan en el campo.
Clara Griera estudió tecnología de los alimentos y es la responsable de la bodega.
Paco Berto y Mercè Torras son los encargados de cuidar que las etiquetas y las botellas presenten su formato final.
Jordi Segarra es el responsable de la comercialización y llegó a la cooperativa despues de pasar por Manchester y Barcelona habiendo estudiado empresariales y finanzas.
Josep Maria Fábregas es nuestro representante en el área de Barcelona.
Enric Altisent es ingeniero agrícola de Sant Martí y se encarga de que los papeles y la documentación oficial funcionen a la perfección.
Cristiana Scanu es de Cerdeña, es licenciada en ciencias políticas y trabaja en el ámbito de la exportación.
No olvidamos al grupo de trabajadores temporales, que vienen varias veces durante el año para apoyarnos en puntas de trabajo.
