La Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España es uno de los grandes emblemas del barrio de la Estación de Haro, la gran capital del vino riojano. Fundada en 1879 por los hermanos Raimundo y Eusebio Real de Asúa, CVNE, como se la conoce mundialmente, puede presumir de haberse mantenido durante toda su trayectoira en lo más alto. Diez años después de su creación, la bodega inauguró una impresionante nave de barricas diseñada por el estudio de Alexandre Gustave Eiffel. En 1900 ya elaboraba cerca de 80.000 botellas, algo impensable para la época. El siglo XX consagró a CVNE como una institución del vino español. A lo largo de 140 años, ha sabido combinar tradición e innovación para elaborar unos vinos que hoy abanderan a los tintos de Rioja y a cuyos pies se ha rendido la crítica internacional. Su Imperial Gran Reserva 2004 ha hecho historia al ser elegido Mejor vino del año 2013 por la prestigiosa revista norteamericana Wine Spectator, siendo la primera vez que un vino español logra este reconocimiento. Desde su fundación, CVNE ha ido ampliando su patrimonio y creciendo con vanguardistas proyectos en diferentes épocas de su historia, como la creación de Viñedos del Contino o Viña Real.
