Sus viñedos no se localizan en una sola región sino que se extienden por toda la isla, por lo que la elaboran vinos con varias D.O.C y D.O.C.G., denominaciones de origen controladas y controladas y garantizadas respectivamente, según el sistema de indicaciones geográficas italiano. La casa familiar de los Planeta y la bodega principal se encuentra en Dispensa, en el noroeste de la isla. Allí se elabora su marca La Segretta y los vinos top a base de Merlot, Syrah y Burdese. Planeta también elabora Moscato di Noto en esta localidad de Siracusa y Cerasolo di Vittoria en la provincia de Ragusa. En Ulmo, al lado del lago Arancio, la bodega elabora su célebre Chardonnay envejecido en barrica y considerado uno de los mejores del mundo.

Desde los territorios de Menfi, Vittoria, Noto, Milazzo o el Etna, las diecisiete generaciones de esta familia de viticultores han dado forma a una de las bodegas icónicas de Sicilia, en la actualidad más en activo que nunca. El respeto por el medio ambiente y el cuidado de la biodiversidad son las consignas de esta empresa tan antigua como moderna, que combina las prácticas ancestrales con los procesos enológicos más innovadores y en la que conviven en total armonía las uvas autóctonas con las variedades internacionales.
