Somos la cuarta generación de hombres enamorados de la viña. De las 4 hectáreas que anteriormente pertenecían al bisabuelo en el área de Cerretta , una de las mejores menciones de las colinas de Barolo, la superficie del viñedo se ha cuadriplicado gradualmente, hasta llegar a contar con 10 hectáreas en Serralunga d'Alba y 9 en Cigliè, en Alta Langa. El bisabuelo Francesco y el abuelo Alberto se ocuparon principalmente del cuidado del viñedo y la venta de las uvas, un comercio predominante en el área en ese momento, vendiéndolo a productores pero también a particulares, y haciendo muy pocas cantidades para su propio consumo y para algunos amigos. Ettore Germano, que murió en 2005, fundador de la marca, tuvo la feliz intuición gracias también a mi mujer Rosanna, de expandir el negocio desde la mera viticultura a la producción de vino. Al crecer en el viñedo, desarrolló una gran sensibilidad agrícola para convertirse en un artesano experto y sintió la necesidad, ya en los años 60 , de reestructurar los viñedos con selecciones de vides injertadas por él mismo, en un racimo suelto, pequeñas bayas con piel crujiente adecuadas para producir vino. calidad y menos sensible a ciertos parásitos. En 1964 se casó con Rosanna Porro, y juntos continuaron trabajando los viñedos, comprando algunas parcelas que bordean la propiedad, sin imaginar que esa hectárea de Prapo, dentro del cerro Cerretta, habría obtenido una mención geográfica en 2009. Adicional a sí mismo: o un Cru de Barolo como la histórica Cerretta. En 1975 se estableció la granja Ettore Germano , la vinificación y el embotellado se hicieron más importantes y comenzó el primer pequeño comercio de unos pocos hectolitros vendidos a clientes privados y amigos. El primer cambio importante se produce en 1985 cuando Sergio, nacido en 1965, después de terminar la Escuela de Enología en Alba, después de algunas experiencias en tres bodegas importantes en el área, continúo ayudando a su padre en la actividad, contribuyendo a la conversión de la empresa: De viticultor a enólogo-embotellador. En 1988, las primeras 5 mil botellas de Barolo, Dolcetto y Barbera se colocaron en el mercado junto con una pequeña producción de Chardonnay. El punto de inflexión, sin embargo, tuvo lugar en 1993, cuando todas las uvas producidas fueron vinificadas y embotelladas. En 1995 en Serralunga compraron unas dos hectáreas de Cerretta y comenzaron con el reto de producir blancos en Alta Langa , plantando los primeros viñedos de chardonnay, rinoceronte enCigliè. En 1997 se casó con Elena Bonelli, quien desde entonces le ha apoyado en la empresa ayudándole en la gestión de la parte administrativa y de recepción. La familia crece con la alegría del nacimiento de sus dos hijos: Elia (1998) y María (2001). En los años siguientes lograron comprar otra hectárea en el área de Prapò, una en Lazzarito, una en Pradone, apéndice del Lazzarito y otra en Cerretta. En 2010, su madre heredó de su primo Tommaso Canale alrededor de media hectárea en el viñedo histórico más famoso de Serralunga la Vignarionda.
