Modernidad.
Altanza, ubicada en Fuenmayor, en plena ruta del vino de Rioja Alta y a apenas 10 min. de Logroño destaca por su estilo arquitectónico, un château francés, rodeado de hermosos jardines en los que recibimos a nuestros visitantes. Elaboran vinos con un enfoque de modernidad, sin perder de vista el carácter diferencial de los tintos de Rioja. A 20 minutos de la bodega se encuentra Finca Valvarés, viñedos y olivares para seguir el contacto con la naturaleza y donde compartir los* proyectos de innovación climática y de sostenibilidad* que lleva a cabo la bodega. Es aquí donde palpita la forma de entender el vino de la bodega, la gran diversidad de uvas que surgen de sus suelos arcillosos y calcáreos junto a las diferentes orientaciones e inclinaciones del terreno. El aula natural que les permite explicar todo lo que es capaz de ofrecer la naturaleza para facilitarnos la elaboración de grandes vinos con mucha personalidad. Con una altura media de 600 metros, las 300 hectáreas de Finca Valvarés albergan las principales variedades de uva con las que trabaja la bodega: 150 hectáreas de Tempranillo, 12 hectáreas de Sauvignon Blanc y 60 hectáreas de olivares, de las que extraen el Aceite de Oliva Virgen Extra Ecológico Altanza. Un mar de viñas, deleite de todos los sentidos. Actualmente cuentan con 7500 barricas, en su mayoría de roble francés, además de contar con una sala con 9 tinos de roble Allier de 22.000L.
Reconocimiento y premios.
Altanza nació para elaborar vinos de larga crianza con un espíritu moderno. Hoy por hoy son vanguardistas, diferentes, únicos y expresivos, y sobre todo, vivos. Muchos de los vinos de Altanza han superado los 90 puntos Parker. Entre ellos, algunos de los pertenecientes a la gama de Artistas Españoles y su reserva Club Lealtanza, que en la añada 2005 obtuvo 95 puntos, situándose así entre los tintos de Rioja mejor puntuados. Bodegas Altanza nació en octubre de 1998 por iniciativa de un grupo de empresarios riojanos con el único objetivo de elaborar vinos de alta calidad. Ubicada en Fuenmayor (Rioja Alta), trata de conjugar tradición y modernidad. Tradición porque en su construcción se han utilizado materiales nobles y tradicionales como la madera, la piedra y el ladrillo macizo; y modernidad porque en el interior de la bodega nos encontramos las últimas tecnologías en sistemas de elaboración, climatización y humidificación, tanto de las naves de barricas como del botellero. También compran uva a agricultores de confianza, a los que se les dirige técnicamente en los procesos de viticultura durante todo el año. La nave de elaboración principal dispone de 32 depósitos de acero inoxidable de 42.000 litros de capacidad cada uno. La segunda nave, que se realizó con la ultima ampliación de la bodega, tiene un total de 40 depósitos, 35 de 25.000 litros y 5 de 50.000. El nombre de su principal marca, Lealtanza, procede del castellano antiguo, cuyo significado es “Lealtad”. Son vinos de alta gama, elaborados a la medida de los tiempos, porque no solo se busca complacer a los aficionados al Rioja clásico, sino también atraer a otros nuevos.
