Español [ ES ]Ubicada en la zona del Macizo del Garraf, en pleno Parque Natural, un espacio protegido que cuenta con una extensión de 12.376 ha. El tipo de relieve se caracteriza por los procesos de disolución que ha originado valles o depresiones que se denominan dolinas, y de ese accidente geográfico toma su nombre la bodega. La finca está formada por la masía y unas cuantas hectáreas de olivos recuperados después de años de abandono y 11 hectáreas de viña en cultivo ecológico. El resto de la finca hasta llegar a las 76 Has está poblada por un bosque de pino y roble, matorrales, retamas, hinojo, tomillo, romero, espliego y otras plantas mediterráneas. En esta zona se disfruta de una media de 300 días de sol al año, permitiendo un desarrollo fuerte y sano de las viñas. El clima es típicamente mediterráneo, y se caracteriza por veranos calurosos y secos, y inviernos suaves y poco lluviosos, con una temperatura media anual por encima de los 15ºC. La temporada de lluvias se concentra en primavera y otoño, con una media anual de 600 litros/m2.
En una aislada Masia del Alt Penedés, en Olesa de Bonesvalls, con historia vitivinícola desde 1349, Joan Badell Badell, inició en 1987 a embotellar y plantar las primeras viñas emparradas, tras ser cautivado por ese pequeño trozo de tierra familiar que le sedujo y enamoró. Fue en 1999, cuando su hijo Raimon Badell Rosés, estudiante de enología, empiezó la reconversión de la totalidad de la finca hacia el cultivo ecológico con apuntes biodinámicos. En el año 2006, con ayuda del enólogo Ferran Gil García, emprendieron el proyecto de VallDolina Viticultors i Elaboradors de Can Tutusaus, en el Penedés, elaborando hoy en día, cinco vinos y tres cavas VallDolina de Can Tutusaus. El nombre de VallDolina procede de la accidentada geografía del terreno, ya que los procesos de disolución del relieve formando valles o depresiones se llaman en el catalán de la zona Dolinas, de ahí "Vall Dolina".
La finca se compone por unas hectáreas de olivos, 11 hectáreas de viñedos, la masia, la bodega y hasta llegar a las 76 hectáreas un bosque de pino y roble con matorrales, retamas, hinojo, tomillo, romero, espliego, palmito y multitud de plantas mediterráneas. Este conjunto hace que sea uno de los parajes más cautivadores, con terrazas y barracas de piedra seca, construidas por generaciones antiguas, dentro de la DO Penedés contribuyendo a formar parte de un patrimonio paisajístico único bajo la influencia del Macizo del Garraf por el suroeste y la sierra de Ordal por el norte.
Todos los cavas de Can Tutusaus, al igual que sus vinos, se elaboran con uvas procedentes exclusivamente de viñas propias, plantadas, tal y como hemos dicho antes, en pequeñas terrazas entre 240 y 360 metros de altitud sobre suelos pobres en materia orgánica, con contenidos variables de arcilla bajo un lecho de piedra calcarea, con una textura permeable pero con buena capacidad de retención de humedad y sobretodo con rendimientos muy bajos pero de alta concentración. El objetivo de esta pequeña gran bodega es conseguir que sus vinos y cavas de Can Tutusaus reflejen el paisaje, el espíritu mediterráneo y la personalidad que les otorga el rincón de tierra de donde provienen como es el Macizo de Garraf.
