El recorrido.
En 1827, George Ballantine funda una pequeña tienda de comestibles en Edimburgo. Fue aprendiendo el oficio de hacer whisky y en 1869 se establece como mezclador de whisky escocés, empezando a vender whisky con su marca hasta su muerte en 1891. 4 años después, la Reina Victoria otorgará el Royal Warrant a George Ballantine & Son, lo que propiciará la salida al mercado, en 1910, de Ballantine's.
En 1930 salen al mercado Ballantine's 17 Year Old y Ballantine's 30 Year Old, los primeros whiskies Premium de la época. Desde entonces, y hasta que en 2005 Ballantine's pasa a formar parte del Grupo Pernod Ricard, se continúa la tradición elaboradora de whisky liderada, a partir de 2006, por Sandy Hyslop, nuevo Maestro Mezclador de Ballantine's, el 5º en 180 años de oria de Ballantine's.
