Español [ ES ]Celler el Masroig es una de las bodegas más importantes de la comarca del Priorato. Su fundación se remonta a inicios del siglo XX, concretamente en el año 1917. Dispone de aproximadamente 500 ha de viñedo propio, todas ellas amparadas bajo la Denominación de Origen Montsant, siendo la bodega más grande de la denominación. Hoy en día la bodega mira hacia el futuro con la voluntad de continuar el camino de mejora y transformación iniciado en los últimos años. Convirtiendo la calidad en un sello distintivo y haciendo de la tradición una expresión de identidad, la bodega del siglo XXI trabaja para afirmar día a día la confianza de sus clientes. Esta bodega que está ubicada en la localidad de El Masroig desde hace exactamente 100 años. Agrupa actualmente a unos 200 viticultores del Montsant. Fundada en el año 1917, Masroig es actualmente uno de los referentes de la D.O. Montsant, siendo la bodega que más tipologías y marcas de vino elabora. La filosofía de la casa es que todos sus vinos estén vinculados con el paisaje, respetando la antigua tradición vinícola de la comarca del Priorat, a la que pertenece la localidad de El Masroig. Desde la fundación de la D.O. Montsant, en el año 2001, los vinos de la casa han ido evolucionando hacia un resultado con mayor carácter y complejidad, características que alcanzan su máxima expresión en su colección de vinos de autor.
Respecto al viñedo, cuentan con 500 hectáreas de viñedo propio. La mayoría de estas viñas tienen un pequeño tamaño y conviven con olivos, perfilando un paisaje marcado por las características y fotogénicas terrazas de piedra seca del Priorat. El clima en la zona es seco, cálido en verano y frío en invierno. La lluvia está generalmente ausente y los vientos Mistral y Garbino soplan puntualmente, dejando el cielo de un intenso color rojizo, brindando espectaculares puestas de sol. El suelo de los viñedos de esta bodega es, predominantemente, de arcilla roja. Este firme, típico en la zona, influye en la calidad de la uva, ya que la luz reflejada por la tierra roja sobre las uvas contribuye de forma efectiva en el proceso de maduración del fruto. Respecto a las variedades, la Garnacha y la Cariñena son las autóctonas de la zona y también las más presentes en los vinos de la casa. Sin embargo, utilizan igualmente variedades foráneas como la Syrah o la Cabernet sauvignon, plantadas en fechas más recientes.
