El camino emprendido de Domenico.
Domenico Poggiali compró la bodega Fèlsina en 1966 y, con un acto valiente en ese difícil momento de la viticultura italiana, decidió invertir en la calidad del vino y la experiencia de algunos jóvenes. Entusiastas de la viticultura y empresarios calificados, Domenico y su hijo Giuseppe Poggiali modernizaron el funcionamiento del campo sin abandonar el espíritu de la tradición. En pocos años, las hectáreas de viñedos fueron aumentando hasta pasar a ser más de cuarenta y también cambiaron el alma y la organización de la empresa. En la segunda mitad de los años setenta, el yerno Giuseppe Mazzocolin ingresó en la empresa, con la tarea de potenciarla comercialmente. Su cultura humanista y su conciencia de la responsabilidad del hombre en el trabajo contribuyeron al crecimiento de la cultura del vino en Italia y en el extranjero, obteniendo los primeros premios internacionales. La amistad con Luigi Veronelli y la colaboración con el enólogo Franco Bernabei han trazado un camino que se revela con extrema consistencia en los vinos a partir de la cosecha de 1983, la primera de Fontalloro y Rancia, hasta nuestros días. Bajo la guía de Domenico y Giuseppe Poggiali , comenzó un camino que desde 1990 también presenta a Giovanni Poggiali , el primero de los tres hijos de Giuseppe.
Los vinos.
Procedente del etrusco, la palabra "Fèlsina" designaba en el pasado un "lugar de hospedaje y comida". Hoy, tras las antiguas murallas de esta bodega, los visitantes pueden encontrar algunos de los ejemplares de Chianti Classico más reconocidos de la vertiente sur de esta denominación, donde el clima más cálido da lugar a vinos complejos, amplios, aterciopelados y redondos, todos ellos entre los más reconocidos de la tradición de Castelnuovo. Los grandes Chianti Classico de la bodega, el de añada y el reserva, Rancia y Berardenga, compañeros ideales en cualquier mesa. Fontalloro, un mito consolidado del Sangiovese toscano, profundo, oscuro, balsámico y con recuerdos de vainilla. Colonia, una cumbre del Chianti con apenas una producción de 6000 botellas anuales y una amplitud olfativa a la altura de los grandes Brunello. Y entre las variedades internacionales, el explosivo y vigoroso Maestro Raro, elaborado a partir de cabernet sauvignon, y Sistri, un chardonnay con carácter y verticalidad.
Lugar de encuentro.
Tan pronto como pones un pie en estos viñedos, sientes el abrazo hospitalario de la tierra acompañado de responsabilidad moral hacia el territorio. Tierra de etruscos, sus fundadores, que introdujeron la vid y el olivo, tierra de romanos, que encontraron asilo y compañía en su oficina de correos, tierra de peregrinos en el camino por la Via Francigena. Parada o destino, hoy como entonces, Fèlsina ofrece a sus huéspedes paz y refrigerio. Antiguo hospedaje de los grandes duques de Toscana, Fèlsina era un lugar de cultivo de olivos con unas pocas hectáreas destinadas a la viticultura. La bodega original era muy pequeña, pero a principios de 1900 ya estaba involucrada en el embotellado, bajo la noble familia florentina de Busatti, que dio el aspecto actual del siglo XVIII a la Villa, la Iglesia y los otros edificios del patio.
